If you are interested in enrolling at John Knox Christian High School for the 2018/2019 school year, here’s what you need to do:

STEP 1: Book a Tour
During the 2017/18 school year, families interested in enrolling in John Knox Christian High School are invited to book a tour at the elementary campus. Tours can be booked anytime between 9am – 2pm Monday to Friday. At the tour, you will see our students, teachers, and classrooms, understand the culture and uniqueness of our school is like, get the most updated information about our high school, and ask any questions you may have.

STEP 2: Fill in Application Form
Next step is to fill in the application form, which will ask for information about the student’s academic history, health, contact information, and a few other items. We’ll also need a pastoral reference and a school reference form from the student’s current homeroom teacher or school counsellor. You’ll need to submit everything on the admissions checklist (see application form) for the application to be considered complete.

Once we have received all the information, we will contact you for an in-person interview with the Principal or Vice-Principal.

STEP 3: Receive Admission Package (if accepted)
If you are accepted to John Knox Christian School, then you will receive an admission package in the mail. This will include all the information you will need to prepare for the 2018/2019 school year.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

1) How is the high school building construction coming along?

Everything is on schedule so far. In case of construction delays, we have confirmed that we can use Carver Christian School’s campus on a month-to-month basis until construction is complete.

For information on our building progress and other updates, please visit our Building Project page or our Facebook page.

2) What are the tuition fees for the high school?

The tuition fees for the 2018/2019 school year have not been finalized. You can refer to our 2017/2018 tuition fees as reference.

3) Will high school students need uniforms?

Yes. The Secondary Campus is a uniform school! The purpose of the school uniform and gym strip is to assist in creating a positive learning environment that is free of distractions and disruptions and to encourage students to represent the school in a positive light while fostering a sense of community.

Go to our Uniforms page to see what the uniforms will look like and the latest news about how to order. Online ordering will be ready in March.

4) What are the transportation options to get to the high school?

We will provide a school bus to transport students from the elementary campus to the high school campus in the mornings. For 2018-2019, elementary classes are currently scheduled to start at 8:30am (K-3) and 8:40am (Gr 4-6), and high school classes will start at 9:00am. After school there will also be a bus going from the high school to the elementary school, although the timing of this bus has not been finalized.

The high school campus is a 13-15 minute 1-km walk from the New Westminster skytrain station. Students can also take Bus #112 from New West skytrain to the school. Translink schedules show this bus leaving the skytrain station every 15 minutes in the mornings (8:20am, 8:35am, 8:50am, etc.) It’s a 4 min bus ride. Go to the Translink website to view the most current schedules and other buses that go to the school.

5) How many students will there be at the high school?

Our goal is to have ~240 students attending the high school from grades 7-12 for the 2018-2019 school year. So far we have slightly over 200 students registered, with more registering each week. The high school campus will have space for 450 students when it is completely full, and we are expecting to grow to that number over several years.
