International Students

International Students: Kindergarten-Grade 7

Our elementary campus welcomes applications for International Students, including home stay students. At this time we do not offer ESL programs.

Please contact the school office with any questions regarding International Student applications.

International Students: Grades 7-12 (starting September 2018)

Students are integrated into regular Canadian classes and may take the classes for audit or credit.  The number of international students per class will be limited to ensure that the students have maximum opportunity to develop English language skills and to integrate with Canadian students.

The student’s language skills will be assessed to individualize the program to suit his or her learning needs.  English Language Learning (ELL) classes will be provided for students who need them. Peer tutoring and mentorship programs provide the benefits of studying together with Canadian students.

The Academic Counselor will help students to select their courses and to plan for university and career options.

English Language Learners

The English Language Learner (ELL) program is designed to support students learning English as a new language.  Students will be assessed on their English language skills, and then placed in a program that will help them succeed in their English language acquisition.  The ELL teacher will work with students one-on-one and in small group situations. Classes cover an appropriate level of language development and support students as they integrate into the regular classroom.

The amount of support a student receives from the ELL program depends on the needs of the student.  This will be determined by the language skills assessment, and the recommendations of the ELL teacher and the classroom teacher.

As students learn to communicate in English they will be able to exchange their thoughts and ideas with others in the classroom, enriching the cross-cultural learning experience of the whole class.

Language and communication are a gift from God.  Our goal is to help each student appreciate and develop this gift and use it to the glory of God.
